Hi! I’m Sabrina, and this morning I woke up craving pancakes. Not just any pancakes — the fluffy, soft kind that make your day start with a smile.
I grabbed my bag and headed to the supermarket. Since I’m learning English, I thought, why not use this little shopping trip to practice?
At the Supermarket
As soon as I walked in, a friendly clerk smiled at me.
Clerk: Good morning! How can I help you today?
Me: Good morning. I'm shopping for breakfast. I want to make pancakes.
He nodded and asked what I needed.
Me: I need eggs, milk, and some flour, please.
Clerk: The eggs and milk are in the dairy section, and the flour is on aisle 5.
Before leaving, I remembered I wanted something sweet.
Me: Do you also have bananas?
Clerk: Yes, they're in the produce section.
Perfect. Banana pancakes it is.
Back at Home
Back home, I laid everything out on the counter:
- Eggs
- Milk
- Flour
- Bananas
I whisked the eggs, poured in the milk, and mixed them with flour until the batter was smooth. Then I added sliced bananas. Soon, the whole kitchen smelled amazing.
I stacked the pancakes high, drizzled a little honey on top, and sat down with my plate.
I couldn’t help but smile: “Not only do I have fluffy pancakes for breakfast, but I also got to practice my English while shopping. Sweet and useful!“

Words I Picked Up Today
- Aisle: the path between shelves in a supermarket.
- Dairy section: where you find milk, eggs, cheese, and butter.
- Produce section: where fruits and vegetables are sold.
- Flour: powder made from wheat, used of baking.
- Batter: the smooth mixture of flour, milk, and eggs before cooking.
- Fluffy: soft, light, and airy in texture.
That was my little morning adventure: shopping in English, cooking in English, and enjoying every bite. Who knew pancakes could make learning so sweet?
